She Felt Like There Was A Person Inside Of Her Desperately Trying To Get Out!

Hattie Montgomery felt like there was a person inside of her trying desperately to get out!!

The person Hattie felt was inside was ‘an athlete’, she was ‘strong’, and ‘she lived life to it’s fullest”.  This person locked inside had a list of things to accomplish and a drive for new experiences….

But at 530 pounds, she was trapped!  She kept herself from the rest of the world. Her best friend was food, but her enemy was that food.

Until 3 years ago when she realized that she wanted to live….

Hattie’s life is transformed now, and here is her story.

When your life is on the line, weight loss has nothing to do with looking good!

or

Hattie

Most of us could lose 20 or 25 pounds, but 320 pounds!!  What a miracle this woman is!

Have you ever had such a challenge in your life?

I myself can not even imagine 530 pounds either, Marquita. For her life and health, it was truly worth it not to mention a miracle accomplishment.

  4. Sometimes, it takes an enormous, overwhelming, seemingly impossible problem that jumpstarts us to take steps to do something to change it. For example, if we are living in a violently abusive relationship with a child or two, even without resources, friends, money or anything to help us, we may find a way to get out and get to a shelter. However, if we have money, lots of friends, family and an emotionally abusive relationship, we may stay in it for years – “because it’s not that bad.”

The same goes for wanting to lose 10 or 20 or even 30 pounds. Yes, we know we want to do that. Yes, it will feel better. But the need and desire may not be that strong because it is not a seeminly life or death matter (although we are told that being overweight is associated with many health problems eventually).

Great coaches can make all the difference, Patricia!! There aren’t a whole lot of people who are that successful without a coach or some form of support group!!

  6. Wow! what a huge challenge, and a big achievement, now she’s achieved a goal like that, she can do anything at all! I’ve heard that eating for some people is the same as being addicted to alcohol or drugs, and “beating” that addiction is very difficult.
Congratulations to Hattie, doesn’t she look beautiful!

Thanks for sharing this story, Holly. I don’t remember who said “Inside every fat person there is a thin person trying to come out”, but Hattie certainly found that thin person! Awesome achievement.

  9. Holly,

My immediate reaction is that sometimes it is actually easier to deal with a huge problem than with a smaller one. To lose 20 pounds doesn’t seem like it is such a big task or so important, so the motivation can easily lag. And when you only have a little weight to lose, the pounds seem to come off so slowly that it is easy to get discouraged. A huge problem, just like a huge weight loss, can cause us to gear up and make a firm decision to change – because our life or something we really want – depends upon it.

Holly, this is a story that empowers all of us and it should. She had gotten to the point that taking control of her habits was the challenge. Her thoughts were on positive things and not food or how to loose weight.

With most plans people must desire change and not just talk it. Here story will forever be in my mind. The will is the power that drives us to accomplish all things without any limited thoughts. Getting past worry and doubt is the hardest thing for all of us.

Amazing and moving which nothing can compare to he victory.

Holly, you are a great coach and finding time to share such a story is appreciated. Thank you for care so much for all of our well being.
