Sam Stosur has a Perfect Match

from Sam's site

Sam has found a perfect match in more than one way!!  We have a new star in the Tennis world!  It is always exciting to see someone new win the title! It is Sam, in case you didn’t know.

I don’t know about you, and I know that I am not much of a tennis fan, but I do know that it is also great to defeat someone who has had the title.  Heaven’s that means you are pretty darn good!  At least in my books.

The biggest thing that pleases me though isn’t her win but her attitude through the win.  I don’t like it at all when someone has a bad attitude (her opponent Serena Williams).  It just sucks.. I can say, as an athlete when I was young I was one of those.. Well maybe not such a menace to the officials I kept most of that under my breath!

I won’t share the details of my obnoxious behaviour,  but I look back on that as totally inappropriate.  Actually I ran into my high school coach with my daughter a few months back and he was telling my daughter about me…  And what I had once done!  I can tell you that  what he told my daughter was not what happened, what he said was nicer!!  He must have had a hearing problem back then too!!

I think that sometimes the worst advocate for not liking the inappropriate or poor sports person qualities is someone who “used to be” that!    I understand one is intently into the game, but one has to remain sportsmanlike!  I always feel bad for the ref or linesman, cause too many times no one agrees with them!!

I don’t know the whole story and I don’t know much about  a lot of things in tennis, but I can read and interpret things from the news.. Did Serena deserve to win, not as a role model! Should she be banned from her sport?  If that is the rule.  She used her words inappropriately, she should be dealt with accordingly.  Heat of the moment or not!!

Well I must say that I have seen soccer players and hockey players do far more than she has… although they might have been more physical..  In the heat of the moment does it make it right?  What  is your opinion?

I am proud to admit that I take the same nutritionals as Sam! She is in amazing shape and she plays a mean game of tennis.  She even attributes that to the great supplements that she is taking!! She has a great attitude and she is a great athlete and she knows a great supplement when she takes one!

  1. It was a great match and Sam deserved to win.

She was so obviously in better condition than Serena, and I was thrilled when the tensions and on-court histrionics didn’t fluster her.

A great ambassador for your company, Holly!

That’s a big word, Jacqui!!! I am so glad she didn’t get flustered about that too!! Thanks for stopping by!

Great post Holly… I have not followed Tennis this year but I also can appreciate that she is a new champion! The fact that you have noticed that her attitude was on of a champion as well makes it even more exciting for the tennis world because she will most likely be rising up to new challenges ;) My son Gabe picked up a tennis racquet for the first time this summer and he fell in love with the sport! Fun stuff!

Can’t say as I would have paid much attention, except that I take the same supplements and someone did bring it up in a conversation so I thought I would write about it… Love the idea that we have so many athletes on our products!!! I look forward to hearing Gabe’s adventure with tennis… maybe he will be a star! Thanks, Nathalie, for sharing.

It is amazing that no matter what the sport, your attitude does more to determine your altitude than almost anything else.

I agree it’s a great match and Sam deserves to win!
You says, “your attitude does more to determine your altitude than almost anything else.” I totally agree with you. And this can be applied to everything especially on sports.

I didn’t see the match so I don’t know what happened. I can understand the frustration of playing badly and getting a call you don’t agree with. However, when playing professional sports I think they should exhibit upstanding behavior knowing that people are looking up to them as role models. Plus, the whole world is watching! Yikes! Attitude is everything! Is our contagious?
    Thank you Holly! Great post!

I must say that as it goes I don’t know tennis, but I am going to guess that Serena was under pretty close surveillance due to her history of misconduct. Like you, I think they should display upstanding behaviour. A place where they should have even more sportsmanlike conduct. Attitude is everything… Thanks Lynn.
