So you are picky about what you wear and what you drive and what you spend your money on, why not be picky about what you think?
So many thoughts?
Do you have any idea of how many thoughts go through your head on any given day? I’ve heard of 50,000 and as much as 80,000 in one day!! And the problem is that if they are negative and you don’t change them, what happens to those thoughts tomorrow? They repeat themselves and they are still negative!!
Are you aware of what you think?
For example: you wake in the morning and you have to go to work… it is a job that you don’t 100% love and the first thing that you think is ” Oh, I HAVE to go to work!” and in the back of your mind all the reasons that you hate your job pop up. Most of us have the tendency to get stuck in those thoughts and we don’t change them. Then you realize you are late and you start grumbling about that. Then you realize that you forgot to prepare for the errands you have to do and you aren’t going to get time to do your workout and you starting complaining to yourself about no time and then you start complaining about “I don’t have enough time, I don’t get my workouts in, I have so much to do, I am so tired. ” and on and on and on. The snowball effect of that just rolls along and before you know it…. you are thinking even more negative thoughts!!
You keep thinking the same thing over and over
I bet you don’t even recognize what you are doing. The scary part is, is that you get to work you get wrapped up in your work and are so busy with that, that you don’t take the time to change those thoughts. What drags through the back of your head all day long? You probably don’t hear it, but it is there.
If you haven’t done anything to change it, it doesn’t just go away. It may disappear for a while, but then what happens again the next morning?
Be picky about what you think
So, you are picky about what you wear and drive and pay for, why not be more picky about what you are thinking? Seriously! When you tell yourself you hate your job, even if you do, you have to find at least one thing you like about it. EVEN if it is only one thing, you can focus on that all day long… keep it positive, good, uplifting. If you can’t: you’d better get out of there!! You get a paycheque ( focus on the fact that you are getting paid: not the amount you think it should be or that you don’t get paid enough for what you do). There has to be at least one thing good about the people you work with, focus on that, not how much you choose to judge that person because they aren’t like you. FIND something good to focus on so that you can think thoughts that empower you, not ones that just get you snowballing toward that which you don’t’ want. That doesn’t even feel good.
Think good thoughts, feel good thoughts
If you keep thinking these negative disempowering thoughts, what do you think you are going to keep getting? The negative feeling that is associated with those thoughts and therefore more of the same. So it is very important that you think thoughts that make you feel good and that you want rather than those that are negative and are thoughts of that which you don’t want. So be picky about what you think. Make it positive ,empowering and feel good thoughts!
Are you aware of the thoughts that you think?
Sometimes we don’t even notice that what we think is not what we should focus on. IF we think more of it, it will go away. Try something for your benefit, think of the things that you want, notice how good you feel. Don’t expect it to happen like magic wand but think in terms of what you want see how long it takes to happen. But be aware of what you start thinking when those things you are thinking about don’t manifest instantly. Notice what you think!!
I would love to hear your experiences with your thoughts; what you want and what you don’t want. Are you picky about what you think?

my coach taught me a great analogy along these lines you wrote of holly. imagine watching a movie that is so horrible that you have to walk out of the theatre. then, you walk right back in and sit through it. the next day, you go back, pay another $10 for the movie, and watch the terrible film all over again. this is exactly like us getting stuck in a rut with our poor thoughts that don’t serve us, and thinking them over and over. it’s like watching the same crappy movie. thanks for jerking me out of the madness! lol…

Love the analogy! I will use it to remind myself. Yuck I don’t like watching bad movies!! Thanks Melissa.
Aloha Holly,
I love this post and I totally agree! It’s all proven by science, 60,000 thoughts a day and most of those thoughts are run by your subconscious mind! It’s like our computer, unless we install new software, it keeps on running the old one! We have this saying when you want to change your thoughts, “never leave yourself by yourself”, in other words, always program your mind with a good Personal Development CD or something running all the time, 24 hrs/day, 7 days per week. It works!!
Thanks for asking!
Aloha,

Thanks Kellie. I am glad to report that I can often just use the mind to run new good thoughts, i don’t always have to have a CD or something running, it is my mind! So cool!
I have a friend who always talks about her misfortunes. When you ask her what good things happened to her today, she’ll stop talking. She always focus on the negatives, and wonders why unfortunate events keep on happening to her. Then she wonders why people like me always get by easily… I tried to enlighten her about the law of attraction… But no matter how I try, she’s not ready to switch from the victim mode yet

Yes, there are people who don’t seem to want to get out of the victim mode. Their loss! It can be difficult to keep in touch with those people as well. Stay strong in your views which you are doing and keep on doing what you do,
She will either eventually get it or she may eventually drop out of your circle of friends because she isn’t willing to change. Role modeling is so important. I know that I want to tell people to smarten up and get with it, but until they are ready,
and see a need for it, it won’t likely happen. Thanks for leaving a comment.
As I’m on my journey in making my life much better, I’ve learned one thing… I need to release all the things that I can’t really control. Knowing my limitations can be very effective to make this possible. Obviously, serious thing will happen if I continue entertaining negative thoughts on my mind.

Holly,
I’m reading the Master Key by Charles Haanel for the 100th time
(well okay maybe not 100) but you get it
Our thoughts are so powerful, many realize this, yet few will do the
work to harness their God given power.
Remember the thought is the fire that creates the steam that turns the wheel of
fortune, upon which your experience depend.~~ Chpt. 7 #29.

Being picky in what you think is very important especially if you’re experiencing difficulty in your life. Just think about it, you find it hard to solve your problems then you will remain to think negative? No wonder if you will attempt to end your life in that case! Just think positive no matter what to maintain a healthy way to deal with your life.
