So are you? Are you taking any action in your life to keep you moving and mobile? On a day to day basis?
Do you park you car at the far end of the parking lot so you can take action by walking to the store from the big car park?
What action do you take when you are in the department store or mall? Do you take the stairs? Do you take the elevator? or maybe you take a little action by walking up the escalator?
Every little bit helps. Every step you take is action towards your health. Do you know how little action it takes to actually make a difference in your blood chemistry? To me it is absolutely crazy how little action it takes… Only 500 steps per day will change the triglycerides by 60%. 2000 steps a day can change it up to almost 100 %. With that little bit of action for that much result why wouldn’t you take action? Beats me!
By the way I didn’t mention how much that little bit of action would take a toll on your blood pressure, body composition and HDL. Crazy… what a little action will do.
Oh, and did I tell you how great you will feel? I will mention more of that in a little post about endorphins and action! For today, I just wanted to treat you with a little push to take some action so that you can feel better? You will!
So are you taking any action? What did you do today?
See you later, I am off to do my work out : my push challenge exercises and my planks!
Happy Exercising!

wow, what a way to get going. I can easily forget to do things like the, ‘specially when I sit and write all day. Well, most of the time. I make it a point to exercise 10 minutes every hour while editing. But the key is consistency! Thanks for the post

Thanks for stopping by, Elizabeth. It is wonderful to know you make a point of exercising 10 minutes of every hour!! Your body will love you for that! Yeah, Elizabeth!
My big first step is cutting down on the amount of coffee I consume and not forgetting to eat not just the snacks I’m supposed to, but the meals. I brought myself back from a pre-diabetic state, but it really is something you have to work at every day. And you’re absolutely right- every little bit helps.

You are absolutely right, TS, You brought yourself back from pre-daibetic state! That is one great accomplishment, you are patting yourself on the back for that one every single day!! Wow that is awesome! Yes working at it everyday, every bit counts. You can’t give in. Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment.
Hi Holly, I do take action. I walk everywhere and before I wouldn’t even consider it exercising but with a help of a coach, I now understand that every small action helps. Thanks for pointing that out again. I walk at least 45 minutes a day and now that it’s Spring, there’s no reason not to walk more often. I love doing planks and am going to fit in a 30 minute workout. Every time I think workout, I think an hour but even 15 minutes would be good
Thank you for reminding me about this!

Diana you are doing great!! And you do Pilates… You are in the makings for a long strong and healthy life!! Good for you!! You bet those 15 minutes are GREAT!! And if that doesn’t work, do 5-6 minute bouts of exercise.
I’m exercise and health conscious, and occasionally I will walk further from my car, etc. for the extra few steps. But I never knew what a dramatic effect those extra few can have. From now on I’ll be increasing that activity to further ‘step up my game.’
Thanks for this insight!

Hi Cindy, yes when I found out how much one has to do to make significant changes I was quite surprised. Good to know for those that struggle with movement or exercise. Good to hear you are going to step up your game! Thanks for stopping by.
I have Chronic Fatigue/Fibromyalgia and often don’t have the energy for big chunks of exercise. I have found that the little things – the parking a bit further away than I need to, using the stairs (as long as there aren’t too many) etc – are the perfect way for me to keep moving!

Excellent! You gotta do what you can do! Keep on moving! Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment, Meg.
Great post, Holly! Today was my long day (eight miles) as I prepare for a race Saturday (a 5K for bone marrow disease in Villanova). Tomorrow is my last speed day before the race, as I’ll be doing easy days for the next three until the race, which will be two weeks before my big mile time trial at the end of the season.
I must admit that I never really realized how such small things can lead to such big results.
Thank you Steve. Isn’t it great though, how little things can make big things happen!!Looking forward to hearing about the big mile trial!! All the beat with that!
holly, you are such an inspiration for all the exercise-phobes out there! what a hot mama you are
i have been continuing to exercise through my pregnancy. while not strenuously, this little action has helped me feel better about myself, my energy, my upcoming birth, my ability to birth, etc etc etc. and i’ve hardly been doing what i used to! but even 30 minutes with my yoga video (or my favorite: Summer Sanders Prenatal Workout DVD) magically makes the rest of the day go so beautifully!

Thank you Melissa!! I am looking forward to the birthing stories to know how much the exercise helped prepare you for the birth. How much longer?
I love walking and walk most everywhere.

Great to hear, Holly! Walking is a wonderful activity! Do you add any extra strength training to your program? So important for us as we continue to mature. If we don’t use those muscles ( with a resistance) they won’t get any stronger. Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving a comment!
Great post! It can get pretty tempting to just lounge around all day but we definitely need to keep active. I do martial arts twice a week and I don’t think its ever enough.
